Cincinnati, Ohio based electronic artist Nathaniel David Lane, aka redkattseven, has been crafting pounding techno beats, experimental electronics, dub, and ambient soundscapes since 2006 all while exploring the low end of Midwestern subwoofers.

Lane first fell in love with electronic music at a young age, inspired by early 80s pop pioneers like New Order & Depeche Mode & early 90s mainstream techno acts like Snap and Technotronic, but it was Nine Inch Nails and Skinny Puppy that brought him into the underground electronic music scene. In short order Meat Beat Manifesto, The Orb, Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills and Aphex Twin had taken over his listening time.

Inspired by local acts like Boom Bip and Infinite Gray, Lane began production work with vintage drum machines, samplers and synths in late 2006. After years of producing with vintage equipment and releasing dozens of albums, redkattseven stepped behind the decks in 2024, bringing his eclectic tastes to local events, many hosted by his own production company, Subsonic Frequencies.  

Live sets from redkattseven include chill dub techno, reggae, tech house, drum and bass, jungle, hard techno, and beyond, with an emphasis on seamless transitions and a knack for blending deep cuts, obscure gems, and classic tracks with fresh, recognizable hits.  

You can catch redkattseven performing regularly at Cincinnati clubs and music venues, including his monthly or quarterly residencies at Mixwells, Fuel Lounge, or Twenties. When redkatt hits the decks, expect the unexpected.
